Cheese Flan

This is my families favorite dessert. I make it for almost every party I attend and I also paid my bills for a while selling these! I hope you enjoy it…

Ingredients

  • 1 8oz Cream Cheese
  • 1 Can Condensed Milk
  • 1 Cup of Water (I use the can from the condense milk)
  • 6 eggs
  • Caramel
  • 3 cups of sugar
  • 1/4 Cup of water

Instructions

  1. In sauce pan put sugar and water heat till caramel consistency. Make sure you do not get the caramel on your skin, as it will burn you.
Pour in pan 9 inch round pan. set aside.
In mixer, pour Condensed milk, water, cream cheese and eggs. Liquefy until all mix and smooth. You should not see crumbs of cheese.
Pour in glass or ceramic baking dish and Bake for 45 minutes in the water bath and check with a knife just to the side of the center. If knife comes out clean, it’s ready.

Remove and let cool. Let cool in refrigerator for 1 hour. Invert onto a large plate, the caramel sauce will flow over the custard.

I want to give this a try. but I just want to make sure if I got this right, When I make the Caramel the pan that I put it in would be the same pan that I'll be putting the Flan mix into and It needs to be a Glass pan or Ceramic baking dish. The Flan mix goes right on top of the Caramel mix. and into the oven. I've never done a flan before but your recipe looks to me like a no fail recipe. and I want to do it for X-Mas.

Thanks Shaddi

I make this but instead of the can of water I use a can of evaporated milk. It tastes like a cross between a cheesecake and a flan....enjoy it!! Oven temperature should be 350F.

I tried this recipe but I added Rum and a teaspoon of vanilla extract, also in lieu of the can of water, I used evaporated milk. It tastes heavenly good!
