Sugar Nut Bars
These are wonderful cake like dessert bars rolled in powdered sugar.
Sugar Nut Bars
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 cups packed brown sugar
- 2 cups cake flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
- 2 tablespoons confectioners’ sugar for dusting
Instructions
1 Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C). Grease one 9×13 inch baking dish.
2 In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and blend together with the brown sugar. Remove from heat; set aside to cool.
3 Add the flour, baking powder, vanilla and chopped nuts.
4 Pour into prepared pan and bake at 250 degrees F (120 degrees C) for 50 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool. Cut into bars and roll in confectioners’ sugar.
