NOT TRIED THIS YET , LOOKS GOOD AND A LOT QUICKER THAN OTHER RECIEPS I HAVE TRIED
hi,ilive in Nigeria and at the moment its alittle humid here, have tried many recipes for fondant and gum paste but they sweat making my work messy,Please what can i do?
When you say one package of gelatin, how much is that exactly? I buy my gelatin in bulk.. I am thinking like 1/4 cup? but I am probably way off which is why I ask :)
I am just starting out in cake making and I'm learning everything from books basically... What's the difference between Pastillage and Fondant. For example, when would I want to use one over the other?
I made this exact recipe yesterday, found it on pastry sampler.com... It came out perfect. Very easy, super white.
I have worked with fondant and gumpaste and still learning, what is the difference between these two, pastillage, and mexican gumpaste?
Can i use a hand mixer for this?I dont have a stand mixer. And i want to make 2d buildings.
IS THE PACKAGE OF PLAIN GELATIN THE SAME SIZE AS A SMALL BOX OF JELLO?
There is one Tablespoon of gelatin in a Knox pkg.
angelgirl10...when gelatin is mention in baking , they are referring to Knox gelatin (the unflavored kind) NOT JELLO! Hope this helps!
1 pack of gelatin is 1/4 cup or it is equal to 4 leaf (sheets) of gelatin (which would need to be bloomed in cold water before dissolving in the water and cream of tartar ), i would use a hand mixer as it does the same job, and for colouring paste use a cocktail stick, dab the colour onto the paste and fold in, keep adding drops of food colouring/gel to get the colour you want =) hope this helps x
