Beer Spice Cake Ingredients 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened1 cup brown sugar1 egg, beaten1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour1 teaspoon baking powder1 teaspoon ground cloves1 teaspoon ground cinnamon1 teaspoon ground allspice1/2 teaspoon baking soda1/4 teaspoon salt1 cup beer Instructions 1 Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan. Sift together flour, baking powder, cloves, cinnamon, allspice baking soda and salt. Set aside. 2 In a large bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and beat well. Add flour mixture alternately with beer and mix well to combine.
