Sacred Heart

This image is from the Middle Ages. It's an entry for a 25th Annual Spiritual Arts Show a selected/juried art show on 4/21/07 running a month and is open to all denominations. The heart represents Jesus, the flame His love, the Halo His holiness, the lilies His resurrection, three flower the Trinity. Entries must be original works and express a Christian idea. Except for a small structural support, floral wire/tape, this sculpture is 100% edible gumpaste & royal icing. Critiques are greatly appreciate.

Update, this was in a selected art show. Over 50 people submitted paintings & sculptures. I was one of 22 who were actually selected to be in the show. What a coup for sugar artists! The judges called it a Hispanic inspired sculpture. :)
