yeah, I started working on the results today. We've had a busier week than I planned but if you finish first then that's ok by me. Are you using the spreadsheet and entering all the recipes or just tallying the critiques? I suppose the latter would be way faster!! I've been entering recipes this afternoon and it's a bit time consuming. Anyhoo, I'll just keep working at it and try to get it done tonight or tomorrow. Sorry for the delay!! |
Thats ok....I just wasn't sure. I assumed that you had gotten busy. I was going to try to enter in the recipes but I think that you are right....it would be faster to just tally up the results. I didn't look at the yellow cake thread to see who did the original yellow cake spreadsheet but I'd really like to thank them...it must have taken a lot of time and effort. You go girl
I'll chill and let you complete it since you are further than I am. I just printed off the critiques but I haven't plugged anything into the spreadsheet. Thanks CountryCakery for your hard work! |

Thanks so much for doing it though. I love the spreadsheet and downloaded the yellow cake results to my desktop. I know we all appreciate your time! |

Hey all! Sorry to have sort of abandoned this thread. But I had a biking accident a few weeks ago and my dominant arm is in a sling. So computer use (not to mention baking!) has been outside my range of abilities. I'm planning on writing a book, "100 things you never realized you needed two hands to do." as soon as I can type with more than one finger.
Thanks for working on the spreadsheet, Country. I'll be back at it as soon as I can. |

Oh boy artscallion, I'm so sorry to hear about your accident. I was wondering where you've been lately.
I hope you heal quickly!
Take care of yourself! |

Well, sound the horns, here it is!! The long (long, long) awaited tab results! I really took forever so sorry about that, and I didn't copy all the recipes into the spreadsheet. It just started to take too long. But if you don't already have all of them, you can copy and paste them from page 3 of this thread. I tried to attach the spreadsheet but my computer won't allow that particular file to attach for some reason. I'm sorry. Some of the recipes only got reviewed by one baker and so the results are somewhat skewed I think. But this is what I've got: The two top rated cakes were the Double Chocolate Layer Cake and Black Magic Cake (which is identical to Wicked Wanda's except for a minor adjustment to the oil amount). Both recieved a 9 rating but were also both baked by just one baker. Of the cakes that were baked by multiple bakers Toba's Chocolate Fudge Cake edged out the others at an 8.6. The two runners up were SCW's Fudge Brownie Cake and Soft As Silk Deluxe Chocolate Cake both at 8.5. I'll let each of you decide based on these results which you believe is the winner.
Enjoy |

Woohoo! Thanks CountryCakery! CC is acting really strange for me right now. But if you want to, you can upload the spreadsheet to Google and there's a way to make it a shareable document. I think they did that for the Holiday Recipes list way back when. I'd explain more but my computer is having a fit right now |
