I agree with bonjovibe here. I'd love to get involved with this but I can't justify a miminum order of £100 plus international shipping to buy items that I don't really need and will probably not use again.
If you'd be willing to accept pieces from us international members coloured with what we already have that would be great as I could afford to send the finished piece over to you.
Hope you'll consider this as then it would truly be an international cake involving members from all over the world.

I am of the same opinion as bonjovibabe and Missbaritone.
Placing an order of 100$ plus, and on top of that paying shipping for a heavy tub of sugarpaste, is not feasible for me.
I have learnt and gained so much from this site, I wish I could join in, and contribute a piece from Mumbai, India.
But anyway, it's a great idea and a great plan for a fabulous cake , and I wish the project all success.

If you already have those luster dust colors, there is no need to repurchase them. You can use what you have. The same for the tub of gumpaste, if you already have some, there is no need to re-purchase.
In order to remain consistent, we need everyone to use those specific colors. Everyone's monitor color settings are different, and there are SO many different options out there in the way dust colors, so that's why we put this kit together, to remain consistent, and try to give everyone a really good price.
For our international friends, if you have a white sparkle dust already, you could make pieces using just that color, if you wanted to participate.

You can only buy that specific make & colours of dusts from GlobalSugarArt.com and a couple of other US based places (so $$$$$$ shipping), I've looked! Plain white will be a bit boring to do (for me at least!), but I can't wait to see the finished article anyway.

First of all, I want to congratulate you guys and wish all the happiness in the world.
I feel so humbled that you thought of us to participate in this so special occasion. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love you guys!
I am delighted in helping too. And hope to make justice in the beauty of your idea. I just have a question. If I make a round piece, using gunpaste, do you want it to be hollow, or a solid piece.
I know that making it hollow may facilitate in breaking. But making it solid won't be kinda heavy? It's just a thought.
Again, congrats and I can't wait to see how's going to look like.
Darn ! I don't have those lustre dusts either, so I will be on the sidelines eagerly waiting to see the end result of what will be, a stunning cake !!

I live in Canada and buy my luster dusts at a craft store named Micheal's or the Bulk Barn. I don't understand why everyone is worried about ordering online. You guys must have someplace close that sells this stuff. Also, someone possed a question about using pulled sugar instead of gum paste.... any answer on that?

The challenge is that you need the specific brand to make sure your color is actually the same. The same color name actually varies in how it looks from brand to brand.
It's not the ordering online I'm worried about ( I usually buy all my cake stuff that way ! ) - it's the cost ,as the exchange rate isn't in my favour at the moment None of the suppliers here that I've checked out have those colours & I don't have any cake dec suppliers closer than 100 kms or so !!
So, it is a drag 'cos I would have liked to have contributed to your cake Heath & Jackie !!
I had asked the pulled sugar question and didn't see a response yet. I thought it would make a nice compliment to the gumpaste pieces.....and since part of the chandelier must be glass it would look closer to the real piece without being too over the top........but, others would have to also make pieces or it would be off balance,visually. Did anyone else want/plan to do pulled sugar pieces??
