Pumpkin Images on Cake Central
My client asked me to make her a cake for her Thanksgiving dinner and told me to surprise her...so this is what I decided to do :) Red velvet cake with pumpkin cake "dressing". I used coconut flakes that I coloured green for seasoning in the dressing.
White Pumpkin Birthday Cake
A carved pumpkin cake. Covered in white ganache and covered with homemade fondant. I used gold dust on the accessories.
Halloween Birthday Cake
My granddaughter wanted a Halloween birthday themed party. She told me that it had to have cats. That was very important to her. The bottom layer of the cake is a vanilla sponge. The pumpkin and witches cauldron was made with Rice Krispie treat. Everything else was fondant.
Happy Fall Y'all
Buttercream mums, chocolate ganache stump with pumpkin spice and chocolate marble cake/cupcakes. Fondant leaves.
Make Masters October 2016 Issue
I was invited by "Cakes Masters Magazine" to participate in the autumnal/halloween issue. I'm so thrilled my cake was featured! Thanks God for this gift
Nightmare Before Christmas Cake
I had already uploaded this the other day, but the photos were a bit naff as I'd rushed them to get it in for a competition. It's Jack Skellington dressed as "Sandy Claws" with his loyal companion, Zero. The pumpkin is all cake and the rest was made using modelling chocolate and sugarpaste. Had my first taste at airbrushing too, don't know how I managed without it too be honest, it's sucha great tool. Anways, hope everyone had a great christmas and new years :)
Weathered Pumpkin Ornament
Very little carving went into this one. I used two bundt pans and placed a top the other, and applied my weathered paint effect. For a more oblong pumpkin, I highly recommend the All-Star Cakes Craftsy class by Mike McCarey...it's excellent!
La Muerte's Pumpkin (Showpiece)
2 weekends ago I went to the Great American Cake Show. I decided to enter my first wedding cake ever. The theme of the wedding cake division was “Death Becomes Them”. I immediately thought about my La Muerte figure I has created for the Sugar Skulls Baker 2016 collaboration. I know had my bride and needed a groom. Jack came to mind so I decided to merge the world of Nightmare Before Christmas and The Book of Life. I was so excited and honored to have won first place in the Beginner to Advanced division. The bottom tier is Halloween Town and the stairs take you up to the Land of the Remembered with the Tree of Life. The each lion head on the top tier was created by hand. The blocks for the top 2 tiers were individually hand cut and place on the cake. Now I know what it feels like to do a mine craft cake.
