Rice Paper Butterflies

Rice Paper Butterflies on Cake Central

My first time. I love them. Fondant covered WASC, RI decorations, rice paper butterflies.

Tabbee, the letters are royal icing. I printed out her name in that font, then traced over it onto parchment paper. Applied to the cake with more RI, then I 'washed' it with pink luster dust and everclear.

what did you use to color your butterflies? by paintbrush or pens? how about keeping them from :bubbling? this cake is awesome!!!!!

I bought the butterflies at my local cake supply store. They print them out 12 to a page with edible inks, on rice paper. Then I just brought them home, cut them out, brushed them with piping gel and let them dry on a piece of parchment paper inside a flower form. Which, in my case, is an empty paper towel tube, cut in half lengthwise ;-) Thank you all for the compliments.

The butterflies are gorgeous. The whole cake is gorgeous. But I'm skipping right to the letters. Are those fondant cutouts?
