If I made this for my husband he would never let me cut it, I can't help but wonder how many hours it took.

Good Lord! Now THAT is a work of art! I can't imagine the patience it took. Truely gorgeous in every detail.

Everything has already been said. What was the occasion for this, was this to go on top of a cake or as a decoration for a party or as a competition. Whatever it was for, im lost for words.

boonenati, this was originally for a sheet cake (went on plaque on top), but then redone for a competition. Thank you everyone, it didn't do well in the competition so your comments are very uplifting

Well, I don't know what the judges were drinking that day, but they obviously weren't in their right minds!! I would love some instructions at least on where to learn this technique. You did a fabulous job! I didn't even know you could do this in sugar!

This is one of the most beautiful cake decorating things I've seen. It's so real, like some painting. You must be an artist not just a cake decorator. Sometimes we really don't understand judges!! I can't imagine who did better than you. Keep up the good work. It certainly is admired by most of us. Well done!!

I guess I should clarify, this is a plaque that went on top of a cake (9x13), top view. That way the art could be saved and the cake eaten
