Yeshiva Boker's Hat And Talmud Volume

This was a going away cake(s) for my son who is leaving for Yeshiva (Jewish high school). The Talmud volume is chocolate cake w/mocha buttercreme, and my daughter Chani tediously made each letter out of fondant. The hat is a replica of my son's hat, complete with the brim turned down (to look cool). It was Chai cake with cinnamon buttercreme. These were my first attempts at a hat cake and a book cake.

I think you did a great job on them. YOu can tell it was done with lots of love! Does he go away for school or still live at home?
