K's Purse Cake

K's Purse Cake on Cake Central

I made this cake for my son's girlfriend for her birthday, kind of experimenting with 3D cakes. Cake was baked in an oblong 9" X 13" and cut in half, bottoms set together, the natural shape of cake was perfect, no shaping cuts needed ! Handles with metal square, dots, flowers and initial are gumpaste.

two sons, 24 and 19, both very handsom, (I'm not biased!!), maybe a bit too old. . . ? but thank you so much for checking out my cake and your praise...

A silly observation, is this cake on a book? I think I am going nuts. 8O Either way I thnk that the cake looks too cute even if it is set on a book.

Not so silly :D yes I did put it on a book, only because I usually don't put my purse on a plate. . . trying for realism
