Blooming Birthday
Inspired by design in Wilton 2005 yearbook. Two 12" cakes with 5" centers cut out and styrofoam rounds put in place. BC with fondant flowers. Cookies on stick. Gumpaste letters. Forgot to add florist wire curlies around cookies before taking pic:)
Love the bright whimsical colors!!!
Things I learned doing this cake:) 1. I used 4 styrofoam rounds. Next time I will put dowels through them to hold together...just wasn't thinking. 2. I was lazy and attached fondant flowers with BC instead of making royal. House I took cake to was warm and overnight flowers fell off. Probably fondant too heavy for BC as well..always learning!:) It was fixed and kids enjoyed even with the flaws:)
