Old Buzzard Cupcakes

This is a close up of the cupcake tree that I did for the "Old Buzzards." I would have downloaded the big picture of the entire tree, but you could not see the detail and I figured this one would be better.

Thanks everyone for the great comments. Yes, the buzzards are piped with RI. Made them ahead of time of course, so that they would dry in time for the cupcake delivery. I had to do them in steps because I placed a piece of floral wire into the body so that once the neck dried I could bend it in order to pipe the head onto and it would have support. Step one: Body, wings and nub of a tail (insert wire at this time without bending.)

Sorry hit enter. Step 2: Pipe the neck and leave to throughly dry (otherwise wire may come loose). Step 3: Bend wire and pipe on head (when icing sets a bit, push back the point of the RI) Step 4: Pipe on beak and little talons on the base of the body. Hope this helps those who asked. Have fun!

how did you do the heads? Did you wait until the bodies were hard then attach them? They are so good! They must have taken a long time!!
