its so hard to believe that this is all cake, how could that ball-cake hold all the other cakes, and what is the second cake from the bottom made of that it stays that way on the ball? if it is all real, well, you must have used superglue!

on

I think maybe what people what to know is if the ball is cake as well or is it something used as a 'cake stand' to hold up the cake?

Holy Cr**! That is amazing. Do you think you could tell us how you did it? Even the bottom ball is real cake? The snow man too? You are AMAZING! Great job!!!

Congratulations on second place Katrinamandac! Amazing balancing don't know how you got it to stand up, we need a tutorial on this one.

congratulations on the contest! This cake is spectacular! You need to do a tutorial on "balancing topsy turvy cakes"! It's gravity defying! Fantastic job!

You should have your own show on the Food Network with work like this! Did anyone actually cut into this? How could you bear to see it served?

second place? what the? should've been first, in my opinion! The engineering alone just to balance this thing is incredible!

Is this realy cake? Wow absolutely amazing, my daughter is actually the decorator and she does and awesome job, she is 14 yrs old and really wants to know how to do this.

Absolutely awesome cake! Though I've never done one, I've seen them made. Dowels are usually used to hold the cakes together. This thing is GORGEOUS!!

I agree with (karentje) it's hard to believe it is a real cake. It's gravity defying and those perfect swirl balls..Nah!!!! Even the white frosting looks fake.

That is the best cake I've ever and I mean ever seen! I'm like the others on here - you should give a tutorial on the set up of this cake. It's fantastic. I would love to know how you put it together. How did you come up with the design? It is a work of art! I wish I could do something half that great! Congratulations on winning second but wow I'm really in awe!

oh my goodness! I want to reach out and catch it from falling! Very very cute idea! I am curious as to what sizes of cakes you used and how many this served.

the ball is a dummy (styropore)... but the three tiers are carrot walnut cakes... we angled it in such a way that the weight is balanced. we inserted cake balls for the tilt and there are a lot of dowels which held the tilting of the cakes. there is a pole in the middle which holds them all. from the big ball at the bottom upto mr, snowmans hat.
