This was for a baby shower but they didn't expect the cake to look like this and were afraid to cut it.

Thank you everyone for your comments! I carved it out of two 1/4 sheet cakes, stacked, free hand with an electric carving knife. The head started from a wilton ball pan, that was the hard part because babies heads are not so round. I got the idea from an Anne Geddes book I have and used one of the babies in it. The baby is buttercream and the hands, feet and diaper are fondant. Thanks for looking>

it looks like a baby, it's a great peace of work, but, I sorry to tell you this, but I think it was a bad choince. I feel like I'm going to cry when i look to it. It makes me feel sorry for the baby. I will never cut it

I like it...I feel a little wierd b/c I want to put a blanket over the baby!....I could never cut it either...just too hard. beautiful work.

Great work! Great idea too, but i think it would also be strange to plunge a knife through a baby like this. Maybe it's the true to life position the baby is in, but it seems disturbing to cut a baby into little pieces.... Next time maybe just add a baby to your cake, then everyone will enjoy eating it and not feel bad for doing so. It's too well done to eat.

Nice work! Did you cut the cake? I would also be afraid to cut it. That looks like a baby in the womb. Great Job!

AWESOME!!! Was it hard to do? Did you get the idea from youtube.com? Hope you made a tutorial while you made it!!!!

I think it's beautiful work and you are very artistic. It looks like one of Roland A. Winbecklers cakes. You should send him a picture of it I'm sure he will appreciate all the hardwork and time you put in to it even if others didn't. Remember, It's only a cake sculptured into the shape of a baby like so-o-o many other cakes on this sight.

Thanks pinkstuff, I really appreciate your comment, I did work hard on the cake and I just did it as realistic as I would do any other sculpted cake.

I agree with couple others it's just a cake, not a real baby. I love the eeyore on the diaper.

Its funny that no one seems to have a problem with the very many pregnant belly cakes..is that not creepy then? The cake is gorgeous, you are extremely talented, and I'm sorry you're getting a lot of advice you did not ask for. Thank you for sharing your talent.

Amazing work! Yes it looks like a baby! That is why it is so great! You are truly gifted and I wish that my cakes could look as realistic! Great job!

Thank you for your comments. I know it looks kinda real but the sad thing is it was one of my 1st carved cakes and it was before I really knew how to use fondant. So, sad to say if I did it again, it would look even more real. But I don't think I will be getting any orders for a baby anytime soon. 8O
