Snowflake Cake

Snowflake Cake on Cake Central

My attempt at a snowflake cake. I started out with about 12 snowflakes and after I butchered half of them trying to take them off the paper, this was all I had. It is a red velvet cake with traditional red velvet butter frosting. Thanks for looking!

OHHHHH! I LOVE IT! How did you get your icing to look like that? It reminds me of stucco! You will have to share your red velvet recipe - mine always turn out VERY heavy and unappealing!

It's beautiful! Hey, have you tried the Wilton parchment? When I used it in class, I was super impressed! When the royal items dried, they lifted on their own, no peeling at all.

Thank you so much. I got the spackle effect by touching my frosting knife to the cake lightly and pulling it away quick. The recipe I for the frosting and cake I got off the Land O Lakes website.

I used royal icing and a 5 tip. I tried making some using a 3 tip but they were just too fragile and fell to pieces.
