Kiss Cake

Kiss Cake on Cake Central

HUGE choco kiss for Fathers Day cake. Used 6 stacked devils food cakes to carve this kiss. All choco buttercream with white fondant flag/strip , I had actually gotten this idea from another CC member but I don't know their name but I remember that this was a really neat idea andcouldn't wait to make one myself :)

Thank you all...This was one of the easier cakes I've made but appears to be a really big hit with everybody. This is a cake that can fit just about any celebration really I think.

LOVE IT!!! I have to make one of these for Friday and need some advice. Did you use different sized cakes? How on earth did you get the "paper" to stand up? And finally, what did you write on it with? Thank you for the inspiration, best I've seen!

Yes..I used different sized cakes. I started with 14" then 12",10", 8", 6" and 4". I doweled the 1st 2 layers and used a cardboard round on top of those 2 bottom layers.

...Cont( hit 'ok' too soon  ) I shaved the edges with a serrated knife for smooth angles & took the shavings & 'packed' them on top for the 'tip' effect. I iced it with choco buttercream & smoothed it with a plastic flexible film strip ( you could use a plastic flimsy ruler or anything like that.) To smooth it, I mist a little water on the area & 'squeegied' it in a scrape motion from bottom to top. The 'paper' is MMF semi hard & propped w/ small dowel peice behind it. Writing is edibl...
