Gidget: What size cake pans did you use. I would like to make this cake next month, also did you use any thing to support the inside of the snowmen? I really like your cake.
I used a six and a eight inch round pan. I used tooth picks in the snowmen to keep them together. Have fun making it. I also sprinkled the cake with cake sparkles. It looks really good in person.
another possible silly question but did you have to put anything on the cone to make the royal icing stick to it ? This will be my first attempt at icing somthing other than a cake!
I applied each one straight to the cone one at a time. It is going to take awhile and be ready for your arm to be sore. I also did a smaller version of this tree on my golf course cake with buttercream. It is all worth the pain with the outcome you get!!!!!
This may be a silly question but did you just pipe one leave on the cone at a time? How did you not have the piped leaves already on melt into the new ones? This cake is beautiful!
