Beachball Cake

Beachball Cake on Cake Central

Buttercream with fondant accents. So much inspiration came from CC for this cake. I loved doing the lettering this way!

Thanks for all the great comments! Lynda-bob -- I actually didn't have as much time as I would have liked and they letters were not 100% dry, But they were just fine! I had added a little fixodent to my fondant and let it dry about 10 minutes!

Cute! Love the neon-ish colors (nice adjective  ). Did you have to dry the letters for long before placing them? :)

You did a great job! I am going to have to try this method of lettering. I think it is especially appropriate for children's cakes.

Thank you all for the great comments! cakebaker1957 -- This was actually a cake that I was doing for a friend's birthday. I had so many orders that weekend and just never got around to baking the ball cake for the beachball, so I had to get creative. It is actually a ball of fondant that I shaped to fit flat on the cake and then covered with a tip 16!
