Blue Daisies

Blue Daisies on Cake Central

I decorated this cake today - it was a test cake to see what would happen with a layer cake without supports (dowels/posts). It was okay, but I wouldn't want to trust the weight of it on a cake that was going out.

This was my first try at fondant over buttercream - as you can see from the picture, I started with the green layer and got progressively better (less tuckers at the bottom). I still have plenty of room to get better!

Thanks for looking!

This is such a great cake!! You've inspired me! How did you get all of the balls the same size??

Looks good for a frist try! Love how your daisies came out...Did you pinch the petals individually?

Thanks!!! Godiva - yes, I pinched the petals individually for the daisies. It took a little longer but I had a blast!

Did you cut the petals free-hand or did you use a cookie/fondant cutter, if so, which one did you use? For your first fondant cake, you did a fabulus job! Congrats!!!
