Cupcake Bouquet

Cupcake Bouquet on Cake Central

This project was fun, up until I had to put them on sticks. I picked up a ceramic vase, put in some of that green foam you use for fake flowers, some spanish moss, then I put skewers into the foam and cupcakes onto the skewers. I think if I had used dowels I wouldn't have had as many problems. The skewers were too thin and the cupcakes kept slipping down them. I had to put one in the cupcake and two underneath to support the weight. Will definately have to attempt this again, properly.

your cupcakes look great! I had the same problem until I started using flat sticks. They look like mini popsicle sticks just not rounded. I sliced a small tear in the bottom of the paper liner and slid right into place. Since the sticks were flat, they didn't shift or fall off. Hope this helps for future reference. :D

Your cupcakes are "floating" off of the foam. The other ones I've seen they seem to be sitting on the foam. Maybe this is your problem? Anyway, I haven't done one so I probably shouldn't comment. I think your vase is beautiful and your flowers are perfect.

They look wonderful! I think the fact that they're "floating" on sharp picks contributed to them sliding down the sticks. The wooden picks (rounded ones) may have helped, but I would still recommend using a foam ball so they have a resting place?
