Daniela's Christening Cake

Vanilla sponge cake filled with custard, rasberry mousse and lemon curd whipped cream. Covered in suger paste. Yellow "plaquette" in suger paste and hand painted. Frill, border and flowers also in suger paste. Baby in the flower and the flower are made in modeling paste. Likewise the cute baby booties. October 2006

Thanks :D!! momvarden: No you get modellingpaste if you mix suger paste and gum paste. Gum paste dries to fast to make a baby in it. I should have made the flower in gum paste, but I wanted to try to make it in modelling paste.

Modeling paste resembles suger paste mixed with flower paste. It's perfekt for all kind of modelling. It's soft enough to model in but drys fast euough. When I do these I put little plastic fiol inside just to keep the shape while it drys. It only take minutes.
