My First Castle Cake
My first attempt at a castle cake (practice for one I will be making in January for a bridal shower). Thank you all for sharing your beautiful castle cakes that gave me my inspirations (plus inspiration from Lindy Smith's books). 2-layer 8" square, topped with a 2-layer 6" round. Covered in fondant, pressed with stone wall impression mat. Getting towers to stay level was the hardest part. I learned quite a bit from this attempt & will do some things differently the next time, but overall I am pleased!
did you press the impression mat afterwards or before you placed it?
Wow! You did a great job! This castle looks good enough to live in!!!!
Thank you! Maemae: I pressed the impression mat before I placed it
Wonderful detail!
Wow, you don't have to practice anymore....you've got it down! Wow, that's impressive!
