This is so awesome, I'm adding to my faves for sure. I'm doing a 60th birthday party and the theme is a sock hop, this would be great. Can you tell me how you did the record player and the record labels? Thanks so much!
Thanks for all the comments! I painted the woodgrain using brown food color. The player is a 14" sq. and the pieces are fondant. The arm is a dowel with "formed"fondant on each end. The turntable is 3-10" cake circles glues together and covered in blk.fondant.The top is a sheet of fondant painted with silver LustreDust.
Oh, and the record labels are made of fondant in the colors seen and them hand painted with black food color with Tequila! I found records on eBay and printed out the labels to copy. Hope this helps.
wow that is too cool. My Father-in-law would love that. I may have to do that for his party. He will be finished with his kemo next month we are having a big party for him..and will pry it does not come back!!!
Wow! You did an absolutely fabulous job! My DH was looking when I had this picture up on my screen and he actually commented that it looked like a "Duff" cake! He's my best & worst critic so that coming from him was high praises! Deservedly so!!!!!
