Fall Colors Practice Cake

This one I tried for the colors & to try out other ideas... Thanks to heavenlycakes for ideas and input on color. I know the mum's s/b royal icing but they were more for color than for look. I guess overall I expected more, but I am pleased with the color combo and that really was what I was working on. I also just learned the rose buds so they were for practice too. I had meant to do the reverse shell border on the top but that is a lot different on a cake than on a practice board. I'll keep trying!

I love the colors. This cake makes me want to curl up by the fire and watch the leaves fall out the window!

I forgot to mention that it is Ivory BC on the base, the one photo make's it a little washed out and the bottom right looks darker,.. not a pro photographer :) I think the Ivory needs to be a little darker. Thanks for looking!
