This was for a Halloween dance but could be used for Mardi Gras as well. Comma shaped pan, fondant diamonds, gumpaste crown, masks.
Wonderful! Absolutely beautiful!!!
great job on the cake
I Love it!
WOW!!!Stunning!!!How did you make the mask?
I love this!!! Your creations are totally MARVELOUS!!!
Beautiful - my husband is from Lousiana so my first thought was Mardi Gras!! Great job!
Great job! Love the colors
Thank you. The masks are gumpaste rolled fairly thin, laid over the outside of a plastic mask and then cut to the shape, also cut out the eye holes. Let dry on the plastic form for a few hours or over night. Carefully slide off from mask mold, turn over and dry the other side. Paint with petal dust thinned with Everclear.
fabulous cake, the diamond pattern is so perfect and your mask and crown are great!
great work! it's really pretty :)
This is fantastic! Such talent!! And what a unique pan! I have never seen that one before!
Thank you. I really like that comma shaped pan, it is from a set of three sizes.
What is the difference between lust dust and petal dust? how do you get perfect diamonds?
Thank you so much for posting this! I have a Mardi Gras cake in a few weeks and I have yet to make the masks! This is the exact inspiration I need!
Oh good, glad it was helpful. Estasrica I just pmed you a link for the diamond cutter. Pearl dust has sparkles in it, petal dust is matte or dull.
this is just so cool and classey, love it!!!
This cake is FANTASTIC! You did a great job! I may need to use the mask for a very non-traditional wedding cake I have in December.
Thank you so much. I love masks made of gumpaste, the designs are endless. Be sure and post photos of your wedding cake.
Awesome cake! I hope you don't mind if I borrow some of your ideas. I have a Mardi Gras birthday cake to do. I think you did a wonderful job! Very professional.
