WOW! That is so pretty! How did you make that ruffley border around the top?
Luv it - beautiful as always!!!
Stunning! That border is gorgeous. Please tell how you did it.
Gorgeous! I, too, would like to know how you made the beautiful border.
Thank you. The top border is large puffy shells made with Ateco #822 tip, rose tip #104 wide end down goes in a zigzag ruffle over the top of each shell, follow the top of the ruffle with a #2 plain piping tip in a contrasting color on every OTHER ruffle. The bottom border is the same sized shell tip but just not squeezed with as much pressure as the top shells.
Beautiful cake...I have a little girl cake to do soon and want to try your top border! It's stunning!
Thanks. Post pictures when you finish the cake, we'd love to see it.
Ok so this is one of the most beautiful cakes I've ever seen. Absolutely flawless!
Thank you, happy you liked it :)
Striking cake! Into my favs.
Thank you TipTop, this was a special cake for two new babies in our family that year. One being my first great grandchild Mikayla.

Thank you Edna, that was so strange, they posted your message in the middle of the thread.
This cake is just perfection Shirley. I agree with everyone about the borders. Incredible work! :D
Thank you so much. I think it is still one of my favorite cakes, and the girls are both now 4 years old.
Thank you, that is nice that it brings back a sweet memory for you.
The decoration on this cake reminds me of the delicate little baby girl clothes I used to dress my daughter in when she was new and tiny. This cake is just so beautiful. I am awestruck.
WOW Beautiful cake!
Thank you. I am always surprised to get a comment on a cake after all these months or years.
