2 cakes for 1 wedding. my friends have 2 color motifs -- silver and blue for the civil ceremony, pink and white for the church rites. my first BIG project! although i am almost embarrassed to post this because so many other CCers have WAY better first-time wedding cakes.

thanks youngestdecorator! i actually was expecting something disastrous, thankfully it turned out better than the least i expected. still, i can't wait to make bigger and better cakes. the original plan was at least a 3-tiered cake but they suddenly had 2 motifs.

thanks tiersfromheaven! like i said, idea of design is originally from antonia74. it's a good thing those satin ribbons are there or you'd see some finger marks at the bottom of the top tier when i was putting it on top.

I think you did a great job ... i'm way past the first wedding ... but I would be VERY happy to offer these two cakes! Way to go! :D

thanks danishwiz! first i drew the squiggles/curlicues on paper to scale with the cake. that's for practice. then with an embossing tool, i made indentations on the fondant so i had almost invisible guides while piping with royal icing :) as an amateur, i try to find ways to make profi techniques simpler
