I used powdered artists chalk on the leaves. For the stucco, I just globbed on a crusting buttercream, waited for it to set up and bit and used a viva paper towel to knock down the peaks. Somewhat like texturing a wall. Thank you all for your nice comments.
For the leaves I used cutters. For the board, don't laugh, I used a background called orange parchment from the Printmaster program. Just printed out the sheets, cut them up to fit the board and covered with contact paper. Whatever works, huh?
