Baby Shower Cake

I had the most horrible time with this cake. It was 89 degrees in my house, with no AC. The icing kept sliding off, had to remake it about 3 times. The horrible crumbs got in the way, it looked so dirty!!!!!!! I cried all the way through this cake! I am so glad it is done and over with!!!! I did like my fondant roses and the booties. There was so much potential.....Hopefully next time will be better :)

I think it's great - Very nice roses - The icing is smooth too. Don't beat yourself up over something that the weather caused because your cake is beautiful and you can't even tell!!!

The cake looks wonderful! I can feel your pain on the whole melting situation... still this cake doesn't look like a mistake!

I have to applaud you! I would never have expected something this beautiful from your description. Sorry you had so much trouble, but it paid off in the end. The cake is gorgeous.

I'm sorry you had so much trouble :( It turned out really great though! ;-D I love your roses! And the booties are perfect. Did you use a template for the booties? I'd love to have it if you don't mind sharing.

your cake came out great! somebody once said that their best decorating tip is that not everything has to be edible and you sure proved that...it came out really nice!

I understand your frustration. Your cakes look beautiful and I'm sure they tasted the same. I live in Flrorid where it's extremely humid and when i did my son's wedding cake with fondant icing I had to put the AC to 60 because the fondant batch was going waterty on me. It's very hard to work under those circumstances you did. I recommend if you will be doing cakes for others more often to invest on an AC unit and place it in the room that you will be doing your cakes from. Keep up the good work.

Simply beautiful! I don't think it looks dirty at all. Maybe you can see a few crumbs here and there, but not too many and the icing looks smooth and everything else about the cake is beautiful, especially the flowers and borders.
