Monkey First Birthday
For my dear nephew's FIRST birthday. 2-layer 5" round smash cake with 4-layer 8" round main cake all iced in buttercream. Monkeys, palm trees and coconuts are handmade out of fondant. Banana banner and #1 are paper (my fondant one broke) and the "sand" is crushed nilla wafers. Even the palm tree cookie favor in the background is my work....my hubby MADE me that cookie cutter! We were very proud how it all turned out.

The tall cake was constructed out of 2-layer 8" rounds with a cake board between them...so it is two 2-layer cakes. to cut it, I just took off the top layer by sliding two spatulas/cake servers under the board and lifting off. HTH.
