Garden 1St Birthday
This 3 layer cake was for my niece's 1st birthday this weekend. The 16' bottom was WASC with buttercream, 12'' middle was strawberry with cream cheese icing and 8'' , was white with buttercream. I used a diamond impression mat and gumpaste flowers (that I bought) for top layer. All butterflies, tulips and name plaque are fondant with luster dust, lollipop flowers and ladybugs are white chocolate using candy molds. This was a lot of work, but everyone loved it! I inserted 20 guage jewelry wire into the butterfly after I cut it out and let it dry. I used a floral water pick and put fondant into the center - then I placed the butterflies into that. I had to cut the bottom of the pick to the right height and then placed it into the cake.

Great cake! Can you tell me how you did the butterflies sticking out of the cake? I'm doing a cake next weekend with that.
