Pirate Sword Cake
Buttercake with vanilla buttercream icing. The sword is carved fondant decorated with edible silver & gold paint and cachous. Edible chocolate gold coins, pearls and crushed wafer biscuit 'sand. Inspired by all of the wonderful cakes on this site for my son's Pirate's of the Caribbean 6th birthday. Thanks!
now that is one SWWEEEEEEET sword!
That is so cool, I love the coins and sand.
I think the small cracks add character to the blade. I too am saving in my favorites.
spectacular job!!!
wow Fiona, those coins look so real!! How did you do that??
Such a wonderful cake, I would never have thought of it and it is perfectly executed! The cracks are perfect!

You are really a great artist! The details on the sword is so well done. Great job!
Thankyou, what a nice thing to say! I had a lot of inspiration from this site and thank everyone for sharing thier fabulous ideas. I was pleased with it, however a little disappointed that the blade cracked when I lifted it onto the cake, but no matter, my son was happy

WOW! That sword is AMAZING!
Your cake is great! It is funny that you mention the crack because I did notice and thought wow she did a good job by adding that crack to make it look like a real older sword. I think it is great!!!
How did you do the design on the blade? Thank you.
