Wedding Cake Disaster
Oh, I knew it was bound to happen. I posted the details in the "cake disaster" forum. This was one that I refunded in full on-site due to the cake cracking and then, collapsing!!! I did what I could, but with high 80s for temps and NC humidity, coupled with the fact that it was outdoors...disaster happened. Thanks for looking...I think...LOL.

You passed the test by not letting your flesh take over and go off on Miss Thing. You cake looks fine and your cookies are great also. Keep your head up!

Boy, not sure that this belongs in disasters lol=) Cause it looks beautiful from where I am sitting! I love the matching cookies too=)

Ya'll are kind...LOL. The back tier, has a hole that couldn't be patched further, so I nestled the 6" and 8" tiers close to it to HIDE the Grand Canyon. Oh, it was awful!!! :cry: :cry:
Sooo sorry this happened to you. Hot weather certainly makes cake decorating more difficult.
Well, you did a good job with it! You certainly can't see any problems from here! Remember, it always seems worse to you than to others. (W/the exception of the B :evil: who kept harrassing you!) Most people would not even have noticed, she probably wanted the job herself & they chose you!
With what you went through, GREAT SAVE!!!!! It looks fine. Maybe not what you or the bride planned but she still had a beautiful table!!!!

Looks like a great save ! can't see the diasters and the cookies look wonderful! Shame on that manager for harassing you--what goes around comes around :x
I think it looks great! I can understand your dissappointment. My wedding cake was forgot about and made last minute by a professional bakery the top tier was on collums it sunk into the bottom and fell over. We were not given a refund or even an appology. All your effort to make the cake look okay was awesome. I might have had to accidently knock the catering lady into the pool if I had been there!
