I loved making this cake, as I am familiar with the "traditions" behind it...be it African American or Pagan or just plain alternative lifestyle. I absolutely ADORED making it pretty, but, taste is subjective. If someone finds it CORNEY, so be it! not my issue!..lol

This is a great cake! It's corny only in the sense that real brooms are made with broom corn (maybe that's what was meant?). Beautiful job on this; I'm inspired!

SW, I'm happy to be an inspiration! I used a textured rolling pin for the ribbon and a pearl maker from Earlene to make the teeny pearl border around the cake, the roses are marzipan, the leaves and broom stalks are piped buttercream. Hope that helps!

Wow Wonderful idea. This is one of those things where I say "Why didn't I think of that" You did an Excellent job on this cake. I just gaot married 3 months ago and We jumped the broom.
