Lavender Stairway

At the consult with the Bride, she had always dreamed of the wedding cake with stairsand fountain. Original design also had another 2-layer 6" cake sitting on table in front of the fountain with stairs from the side cakes meeting on top of that cake. Told bride this cake would need a large table. You see what I got! Scraped the small cake in front (which would block the fountain). Did not like this design at first, but once it was together, I liked it better.

Oh--BTW--the pillars that I used were Wilton push-in but the bottom of the pillars were closed off. Pushed into cake and noticed a bulge, smoothed out with Viva. When I got to the reception site, one bottom layer had split, as the cake had nowhere to go. When I get these back, I'm routing out the bottom of the pillars.

Before I put the ribbon on the staircase, you kind of "lost " the stairs. The ribbon made them "pop".
