Yes, I used two hidden column cut to the height of the first cake, filled them with icing to give extra support to the two dowel rods used in the rock wall. There is also a third dowel rod in the center of the rock wall used to support the wall itself while it was under construction. Then I placed a fourth dowel rod behind the rock wall for extra support.

Okay I am not blond or anything but I am trying to understand your directions :? I was planning on using a regular sheet cake but your sqare cake looks much better. What size is the base? Also when you say you stacked the 8" sqaure I am assuming you mean on top of each other but that would make it pretty tall. Can you explain more about the columns too please. thank you for the help. Someone just ordered this type cake this morning and I am trying to figure out what to do.
This cake is tooo cute!!! You did a fantastic job on the rock wall!!!
Thanks, this cake was lots of fun to create. The rock wall is an 8" square cut in half then stacked.
