That is what I told my husband (who was not thrilled about helping set them up!) We actually did 5 cakes in the time folks usually allot for one. Thank you for the kind comments.
There were 350 at the reception, and they only had one 6" cake left! The main cake is 16, 12 and 8 ~ the satellites were (from back to front) 8" with 6" tiered, 10" with 8" stacked, 8" with 6" stacked, and then the 6" in front. There was another 6" hidden behind the one furthest back that they cut into for the pics.
Holy Moly - that's alot of cake. When brides have that many quests I push them towards a very nice wedding cake and then a sheet cake behind the scenes that would be cut and served along with the "official" wedding cake. Much easier for all involved. You did a great job on this!
That is one HUGE HUGE cake!! I can't imagine having to bake that much or feed that many people... awesome job on all the cakes!! give yourself a big pat on the back!!
BJ - I tried to talk the bride into the sheet cakes, but she insisted on this set up, it is what she wanted. She was great to work with - knew EXACTLY how she wanted everything to be. I went home and slept for hours after it was delivered. Thank you for all the nice comments, I really appreciate them.
