Marzipan Baby 2

I posted a practice baby a few weeks ago. I am so excited to show my finished product. Let me know what you think. Thanks ;o)

Jan. 30, 2010**ETA: For all who are concerned about cutting into this please know, this is only a 3 inch marzipan sculpture, NOT a cake.. It is a topper on the cake and a memento for the Mom to be.. No Marzipan baby was harmed in the making of this cake.. LOL! This is inspired by Camille Allen, A fabulous polymer clay doll designer. Some of you may know of her work from the "sugar baby" e-mails that are all over the web (those are polymer clay). I was inspired by that e-mail, when I received it a few years ago and thought why can't a baby really be sculpted out of marzipan?? I decided to try and this is one of the creations.. I am glad that these are well received by the cake community here on Cake Central.. I am so happy to have a place to share what I love..

on

OH MY GOD! this is the most realistic cake i have ever seen. i am literally saying, "oh my god!" u r deff. a very tallented chef and should be so proud of urself. u r wat i hope to be someday :D :D

on

I'VE NEVER SEEN SUCH A TALENT IN CAKE, AS FAR AS ME COMMENTING, WHAT THEY ALL SAID WILL JUST ABOUT COVER IT, BUT PLEASE DO SHARE HOW!

on

Thank you all for the great comments. They are all really great! I just have to clarify though, that this is a marzipan figure on top of the cake. I know just a couple of the comments referred to this as the actual cake. This is a really close up of the top. Sorry for the confusion  Thanks again everyone. :D

on

okay, seriously I need to know how to make that baby! Unbelieveable, I love it! Is marzipan hard to work with? Thanks for posting! :)

on

wow...excellent work. Plase can check in 3D gallery under Fantasy/Gothic/fairytale..search for ROYAL PRINCESS CALABASH,ARABICA,AFRICAN BLOSSOM and the BAR BEACH cakes, they're toghether , then you tell me what you thought. thanks

on

i have to say esthetically this is excellent work, but reallllly disturbing too. i have to say i would not feel comfortable even thinking about cutting or eating it!

on

Serena, this is just a close up of the 3 inch marzipan figurine. The cake is a Ford woody in another photo in my gallery. This is mainly kept as a momento.. :D

on

SweetTcakes, I dont usually write comments but I couldnt hold back on this....the Lord blessed you with beautiful talent, thank you for putting it to work and awing us all with your artistic ability.
