Nancy's Cake

Nancy's Cake on Cake Central

I work as a volunteer at a social group for the elderly & I made this cake was for our longest serving member. She didn't know anything about the cake or the party & all she could say was that she didn't think anyone would want to mark the occasion with her.

Thank you for the compliments, they're always really appreciated. I made the impressions with regular flower cutters. I used a blossom cutter for the large flowers, daisy cutters for the small ones & simple leaf cutters. I crimped a semi circle round one side & then pressed the flower cutters into the fondant around the other half & dusted over with edible dusts. The sides were done with a straight crimper & curved crimper & embossed in the middle with a tiny blossom cutter & coloured like the top.

The writing was done freehand. I'm not a natural myself I just had a teacher who made us practice lots & lots. I still have the odd slip up
