Enjoying The First Cup Of Tea Of The Day On Mother's Day on Cake Central

I made this cake for my mother. She has kept "herself" in her china cabinet along with her china display! I'm glad it made her day.

Oh I just realized.. Is she sitting on top of a hat? (Red Hat Society?) My 6 yr old is in awe of your cakes. :o

ha ha ha! I hadn't thought of it looking like a hat but now that I see it on display, it surely does. I used sheer wide silver ribbon around the cake and also a plain silver braid. Both are attached with a little piping gel. Have your 6 year old look at my website www.lorraine-icingonthecake.co.uk I hope you like what you see. Thankyou for all of these lovely comments.

I buy mainly white sugarpaste and colour it myself but it is virtually impossible to attain a deep red or black so I buy these colours in smaller amounts as and when I need them. I add some CMC powder to it just the same to give the paste more strength if I am going to model bigger pieces with it, but most of the time I get away with using it as it is.
