Memorial Day Family Reunion
CMD Brides white cake with buttercream icing. I tried buttercream with 1/2 butter and 1/2 crisco. It seemed rather soft while I was piping the stars (my hot hands I guess) but it crusted nicely when I was done.

It is a one cake mix pan. I think the instructions say something like 12 but I think we got more out it. But this was for a family reunion and there was a lot of food there! The pan is about the same size as a 9 x 13.

crp7, your cake turned out lovely. I love the star border, but I couldn't bare piping another star so I chose to do the shell border instead. Great job!
