Fondant Nightmare

My first ever try at doing a fondant covered cake. I made my own and it was way to soft. It kept sagging out of shape. This experience has actually made me afraid of trying a fondant cake again!

It is very cute! I love your pigs! Don't give up on fondant, try store bought! Satin Ice or FondX is wonderful!

Don't give up. The creativity in your concept is good! You know what was wrong, so you can fix it next time. I think it actually looks very cute! Please don't give up. You really have a lot of talent.

Yes, don't give up. Although I've made my own fondant, I seem to like store bought best. Satin Ice and Pettinice (sp.) are good. I love that Debbie Brown dessign. I own that same book and would love to try and make it.

Awww, thanks you guys. Back then I thought it wasn't THAT bad, but looking at what you guys do with fondant, I think it's awfull !

Fondant takes practice - everyone's right, don't give up! Just add a bit more icing sugar next time! Despite your soft fondant, your cake is adorable! (I own that book too - don't you just love it?!)

It gets easier, every cake you do. I started with the yucky wilton stuff and moved on to mmf. The first few cakes made me want to cry - but each one gets easier. You've got a lot of talent and creativity.....a few more fondant covered cakes under your belt and you will be hooked! Great Job!!!!
