Princess Castle Cake
I am a new member of this site after searching all the great ideas for castles located here! This is my first castle cake that was inspired but a number of photos, it was harder than I had imagined, I did not like having to put the plastic dolls on but had no time to attempt fondant ones as sculpting and art are not my strong point!! I was happy with it as a first try though and the little girl I made it for was thrilled!
This is a great example for me to try and follow. How did you make the cones pink without tons of icing?
The pink towers are painted with luster dust, I didn't use icing, the gold and oink windows and things are made from white royal icing and then painted with gold or pink luster dust
Beautiful cake. I love it. Super job.
It's ADORABLE - please tell me what you used for the towers?
beautiful cake
Great cake...you did a beautiful job. A castle cake will probably be my next big cake for me to try. Any instructions will be helpful.
the side towers are 2 ice cream cones stacked end to end and glued with royal icing, then a sugar cone on top, the top towers are paper towel roll cut at different hieghts, I attempted to use stacked cake but even with cake supports it was just too heavy and started making the top lean so I changed it out to lighten it up, in the future I would like for all of it to be edible, thanks for the wonderful comments
I LOVE THIS CASTLE!! YO DID A GREAT JOB! IS THERE ANYWAY POSSIBLE I CAN GET DIRECTIONS FOR THIS CAKE? PLZ...email me at [email protected] THANK YOU.. IT WOULD MAKE MY DAUGHTER SO HAPPY! :D
This is a wonderful cake! I love the colors and the flowers creeping up the sides are great. The royal icing accents are amazing as well!
It's a great cake!! Plastic isn't a bad thing! I'm sure the little girl loved the toys to play with afterwards. :)
Would love to get directions also, [email protected], you did a great job!
This is a nicer looking cake than the Wilton Castle Kit.
