I got the idea for this cake from a similar one I found when searching the web. This cake is 2-11x15 inch cakes put together and frosted and decorated in buttercream.
First Holy Communion Cake
Wow! Great job. Is the chalice done with a star tip? It is a little hard for me to see in the picture.
Yes, I used a Wilton size 13 star tip.
Great looking cake, you did a good job!
I love the double border and I LOVE the grapes!!!!!!!
Very pretty cake. Awesome.
Thank you so much! I just started using that double border and really like it--I feel like it adds a nice frame to the center decoration
I agree, the double border adds alot of POP!
You did a great job...looks wonderful!
Beautiful cake! Did you use a pattern for the chalice? What tip did you use for the grapes?
Yes, I found a picture of a chalice that I liked and transferred the outline on to the cake. For the grapes, I used one of the larger round tips, probably a size 10 or so. Then I lightly patted each grape to get rid of the little point that forms when you pipe it.
Wow, what a beautiful cake! Very well done! Did you do that freehand?
The grapes and vines are done freehand, but I used a pattern for the chalice and host. Thanks for looking and for the nice feedback! :D
