Birthday Cake For My Karate Sensei
Made a tres leches cake for my sensei who loves this type of cake. Cake also has fresh cut strawberries in the filling and decorated with Pastry Pride. Bow was interesting because I tried making it with just candy clay, but it's been too warm and humid here in San Diego, so I had to redo them by mixing the candy clay with fondant and gumtex. It was a little better, but still sagged a little after 4 days of letting it dry. At least the fondant tasted a lot better :)
WOW!!! Beautiful!
great job! i can never get the corners of my square cakes to be so sharp. what's your secret?
Your frosting job is excellent. Nice job on this one.
Thanks everyone for your comments. dandelion - I've found that it's easier to get the corners if you ice with the big icer tip because it puts the right amount of icing at the corners. I then use a bench scraper to smooth it out. Works pretty well with square & hex cakes. HTHs
