Thank you all so very much. Yes, the chess pieces are all poured chocolate. The board itself was just squares of fondant. The cake is a 12" square, 2 layer red velvet, my son's favorite. I was afraid it would be to much cake for them, but he said he wouldn't have been able to play a game if I made it smaller, and the pieces would have been out of scale for the board. I never even thought of that....LOL

Beautiful! Would you mind, PLEASE, telling me how you got the chocolate pieces so perfect??? I'm working on a cake that needs to be delivered by Friday...I poured my pieces last night and they look horrible...big gaps around the edges, can't get them smooth. PLEASE SHARE!
