First Fondant Cake

I made this cake for my cousin's 21st birthday. It is a White Russian cake (white cake filled with Kahlua buttercream.) The fondant isn't very smooth....I crumb-coated the cake w/buttercream. How do I get the fondant smoother at the bottom of the cake? (I have a lot to learn!)
