Mini Pink Birthday Cake

Mini Pink Birthday Cake on Cake Central

Mini, 3.75" X 3.75". All buttercream. Similar to a purple mini I posted earlier this week. Unfortunately, chocolate crumbs came through to the frosting and the swiss dots (first time doing them) didn't work out. What did I do wrong? Hopefully, the 5 year old I'm giving it to will appreciate it :)

BEAUTIFUL!!!! Anyone would appreciate it. I posted a question about dots yesterday and received some very good advice.

Prett ycake! Crumb coating will help eliminate those buggers and a few seconds after applying your dots go back and lightly dab each one with your finger to slightly flatten. I think a smaller tip would work better also.

Discolady, thanks for the advice. I did do a crumb coat..I think because there were so many raw edges, it just picking up crumbs on the corners. I'll try a smaller tip next time :)

Stop being so hard on yourself, you did a wonderful job. For the crumb problem, put your cake in the freezer first for about 30 mins. and then do your crumb coat. Your roses and leaves are beautiful.
